IAGS 2026 Field Excursion Routes ConfirmedTwo one-day geological excursion routes for the 31st International Applied Geochemistry Symposium (IAGS 2026) have been finalized: Route 1: Jixian Section (Mesoproterozoic stratotype) and Huangyaguan Great Wall Examine the geological records of early Earth evolution and the lithological foundation of the Great Wall construction, hike the Huangyaguan Great Wall (a World Cultural Heritage site), and experience the unique charm of the "Changcheng System" strata. Route 2: Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site and Shihua Cave Visit the "holy land of human evolution" at Zhoukoudian, observe cave speleothems, and interpret karst geochemical processes and paleoclimatic reconstruction. Both routes balance scientific depth with cultural exploration in a relaxed itinerary.
